It is with sadness we report the passing of Sylvia Brown. Sylvia was a member of NVA/BVF since 1991 and a regular competitor in BVF events as well as European and World Championships.
I always enjoyed her company especially her wicked sense of humour.

I was saddened to hear of Sylvia’s death. She was a wonderful champion fencer always fencing with honesty and honour ever striving to do better.
I first met her as a young veteran fencer when her name on the pool sheet struck fear into everyones heart. I gradually got to know her and counted her as a friend. We had some great times together at fencing events at home and abroad. She always fenced with courage and faced this final fight with great courage too.
