Owing to the possibility that Covid may affect some fencers for both the Guildford International and the Age Groups, the Committee has altered the current selection rules to give the selectors more discretion taking into account personal circumstances.
For World selection only the first two fencers on the ranking list will now automatically qualify. The remaining two places will be discretionary.
Selection for the Worlds is based on –
- BVF Championships (Oct 2021)
- BVF International (Jan 2022)
- BVF Age Groups (March 2022)
Depending on how the remaining events are affected the Committee may also consider a fourth event, if feasible.
For the European Teams only the first ranked fencer from the older category will now automatically qualify. The remaining 4 fencers’ places will be discretionary.
